Being a firefighter is more than just a volunteering opportunity. It's a calling.
New Castle, NY and neighboring towns are increasingly relying on Millwood's dedicated firefighters to provide dependable mutual aid during emergencies. Our commitment isn't just to Millwood- Chappaqua, Ossinning, and Briarcliff Manor rely on us to keep their communities safe. Our reputation for reliability and training extends as far north as Peekskill, and as far south as Elmsford.

Never "on call"
Our membership includes busy entrepreneurs, lawyers, senior executives, mothers, fathers, and everything in between. We know you're busy and we will always honor the flexibility you need. Respond to emergencies when you can.
Bring your kid to "work", everyday
You can find our members' families in our stations hanging out, watching TV, snacking. When you join, so does the rest of your family.
Impact to the community
Community Events
We invest time in the communities we serve beyond training and protecting residents. You can find us teaching kids about our trucks and tools at the following events:

Mount Kisco Touch a Truck
Monetary Appreciation
Training incentive
$2,000 disbursement after the successful completion of basic training. Subsequent training are also eligible for similar monetary incentives.
Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP)
Up to $1,500 monthly service award at retirement age, contingent on years of service.
New Castle, NY Tax Deduction
10% reduction in New Castle, NY school and property taxes.
Mental and Physical Priority
On-site gym & shower
Gym & showers available for members. In addition, members receive up to 50% off monthly dues at local fitness facilities.
Mental health resources available on demand
Mental health is equally (if not more) important than physical well-being. Millwood Fire supports our members with counseling and county-wide resources whenever needed.
Unwavering stance on your long-term well being
Millwood Fire scrutinizes every decision to ensure they maximize your long term well-being. From the investments we make in our washing machines used to decontaminate equipment and gear, to the safety features we require our equipment providers, your health and safety is our top priority.
